Do you manufacture 'non-standard' gauges?

Yes in addition to our extensive range of stock items, we manufacture gauges to almost all national and international standards. We can also manufacture special items to your own design.

I have a wear problem with my thread gauges, can you help?

Yes please ask for details of our Titanium Nitride coated gauges which provide up to 7 times the life of a normal gauge and they have added calibration benefits as well. We can also offer Hard Chrome and carbide gauges.

Do you have an express service?

Yes we have a fasttrack service for all of our manufactured items.

Can I get information on thread forms?

Yes, Coventry Gauge catalogue has a lot of information on this and we also hold a very comprehensive library of standards and will be pleased to assist you. (see also products under above)

Is Coventry Gauge an approved UKAS laboratory?

Yes Coventry Gauge is lab 0002 which is the oldest laboratory in the country.

How often should I calibrate my gauges?

Re-calibration of gauges depends on your own specified cycles. Most companies run an annual re-calibration. This is so that the gauges are looked at at least once a year. If you use gauges more often and in a harsh environment, consider a more frequent re-calibration date. Conversely, if a gauge is only used once a year, its re-calibration requirement could be moved out to once every 2-3 years. It’s an individual company defined period.

Do you calibrate instruments?

Yes in addition to our accreditations for thread and plain gauges we also hold a wide range of other accreditations for a range of measuring instruments.

Can you do on site calibration?

Yes usually we can arrange for this service.

Can you look after all of my calibration needs-even for items which you do not hold accreditations?

Yes we work closely with other UKAS labs to provide you with a full calibration service.

Do you calibrate gauges manufactured by other companies?

Yes we can and to almost any national and international specification.

I have trouble understanding the use of taper gauges?
